Alexander Wyatt Campbell has been charged by Commonwealth's Attorney Marsha Garst, with the killing of a Bridgewater College police officer and and an unarmed safety officer in a shooting on campus Tuesday afternoon.
Campbell, whose last known address according to VSP is Ashland, Virginia, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon following the shooting. Campbell's first court appearance is scheduled in the Harrisonburg/Rockingham General District Court for today/Wednesday at 1 p.m., according to courthouse scheduling.
Bridgewater College has cancelled classes today, February 2. They will post about further week scheduling later. In addition the College invites members of the community to join them at 10 a.m. today in the Concert Hall at the Carter Center to sing the College’s alma mater, “Bridgewater Fair.”
