From HPD Facebook: HPD is participating in the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police & Foundation effort to support Lift Up Ukraine, a volunteer group collecting protective gear for Ukrainians fighting for their freedom. Today, HPD’s Lt. Miller delivered 15 vests, 70 gas masks and filters and 22 helmets to a collection site at the Lynchburg Sheriff's Office. Collectively, nearly a dozen Virginia law enforcement agencies donated 500 vests! A press conference was held as well as a Skype interview with a Ukrainian official where the donations will be delivered. All items donated were beyond their serviceable life by US standards and can no longer be utilized by officers in the field. Additional agencies continue collecting and more shipments are expected.
