Halloween is still months away but Hershey foods this week said on a financial call that it is expecting candy shortages during the Halloween season, citing pandemic caused supply chain shortages and disruptions that continue. Also cited was the war in Ukraine as putting a crimp on supplies of cocoa and other ingredients.
The candy maker has been devoting much production effort to keeping the shelves fun of non holiday candies and treats. That effort may also cause shortages of Halloween and even Christmas season favorites in 2022
