On August 18, 2022 at 7:15 p.m. officers responded to the 400 block of Eastover Drive. The complainant discovered a deceased male in an undeveloped area approximately 100 feet from the roadway.
Detectives from HPD’s Major Crimes Unit began investigating and the unidentified male was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Manassas for an autopsy and identification.
The male was identified as Towan Cappell, 26, of Harrisonburg. A cause of death has yet to be determined but detectives are treating this as a suspicious death investigation. Due to the ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
